Set Up

  1. mark out a large square/rectangle.

Instructions

  1. Place Goalkeepers at either end of the area.

  2. Use two defenders and two attackers.

  3. Keeper plays the ball out to the defender.

  4. The Defenders must work together to switch the ball to the other Goalkeeper.

  5. If the Attackers intercept the game re starts.

Coaching Points

  1. Encourage communication this can be either verbal or non verbal communication.

  2. Movement of the ball to create passing opportunities.

  3. Encourage 360 play- playing back to the keeper.

Variations

  1. Add more players.

  2. Make space smaller to make it harder for defenders.

  3. Add in wingers for another outlet for keeper.

  4. Add in a rule of touches- 3 touches max etc.

Set Up

  1. Set out 4 cones in a square

  2. Inside the square set out a smaller square.

Instructions

  1. Place the Goalkeeper inside the smaller square.

  2. Place four outfield players outside the large square.

  3. Going clockwise each outfield player will shoot at their net.

  4. As soon as the Keeper has releases the ball the next one is played.

Coaching Points

  1. Remind Keeper to be light on their feet.

  2. Encourage outfield players to start slow and speed up.

  3. Remind outfield players to play a variety of balls.

Variations

  1. Only play low or high balls

  2. Keeper to return using only hand or feet
