Playing out from the back

Set Up
-
mark out a large square/rectangle.
Instructions
-
Place Goalkeepers at either end of the area.
-
Use two defenders and two attackers.
-
Keeper plays the ball out to the defender.
-
The Defenders must work together to switch the ball to the other Goalkeeper.
-
If the Attackers intercept the game re starts.
Coaching Points
-
Encourage communication this can be either verbal or non verbal communication.
-
Movement of the ball to create passing opportunities.
-
Encourage 360 play- playing back to the keeper.
Variations
-
Add more players.
-
Make space smaller to make it harder for defenders.
-
Add in wingers for another outlet for keeper.
-
Add in a rule of touches- 3 touches max etc.
Keeping all 4 nets

Set Up
-
Set out 4 cones in a square
-
Inside the square set out a smaller square.
Instructions
-
Place the Goalkeeper inside the smaller square.
-
Place four outfield players outside the large square.
-
Going clockwise each outfield player will shoot at their net.
-
As soon as the Keeper has releases the ball the next one is played.
Coaching Points
-
Remind Keeper to be light on their feet.
-
Encourage outfield players to start slow and speed up.
-
Remind outfield players to play a variety of balls.
Variations
-
Only play low or high balls
-
Keeper to return using only hand or feet
